How to Create your Profile
1) Go to http://www.civicnetwork.io and click the green “Get Started Now” button in the middle of the screen.
2) On the next page, create your profile by simply filling out the form or importing your profile information from Facebook, Google, or LinkedIn by clicking on the logo associated with the platform you would like to use. Using a social login from one of these platforms means you don’t have to create a new login or upload new photo, but there will be some information you still want to fill out to have a complete profile.
The fields required to complete a profile have a red asterisk next to them and include:
- Password
- First & Last Name
- Issue area(s) you are interested in and/or working on (You must select at least one & can select as many as you like. Click the plus sign next to the issue area for a list of more specific topics under each issue area)
- City, State, Zip Code, Country
You can complete the additional optional fields now or later. Return at any time to edit your profile.
3) Once you’ve completed the required fields and any others you desire, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue “Create new account” button that looks like this:
Now that you’ve created your account, you can log on, search and explore people, organizations and networks. Join a network or create your own!
How to Edit your Profile
First, make sure you are logged in at www.civicnetwork.io by looking in the upper right corner of the webpage. If you see the word “Login” instead of your name and profile picture, then click “Login”
Once you are logged in, click on your name in the upper right corner and select “Edit Profile” from the dropdown menu that appears.
One the next page make any edits you would like then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue “Save” button.
You can edit any field, with the exception that if you created your profile with a social login from Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn, you will not be able to change your password. See here for more information on changing your password.
